Accomplishments
As a managing director and partner at KPMG, Mr. Conaway developed strategies for and led projects on the federal, state and local levels, as well as in international markets. After 16 years of working for KPMG and KPMG Consulting, Mr. Conaway moved on to Unisys Corporation where he created and led the homeland security business area as a managing partner. This position afforded him the opportunity to expand his business portfolio to include the following agencies and programs: The Transportation Security Agency, Customs and Border Protection, Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, The U.S. Coast Guard, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and DHS Headquarters. He was also responsible for all aspects of P&L management, business development, solution delivery, and strategic direction for a $400 million per year business. Additionally, he redesigned internal business management and back office processes to comply with federal cost accounting standards and reporting requirements. The exposure, knowledge and experience that Mr. Conaway has gained over the course of his career is now greatly benefitting his DWP projects.
Personal
Prior to his business career, Mr. Conaway was an officer in the US Air Force where he was assigned as a system acquisition program manager. Mr. Conaway holds a BS in chemistry from the University of Alabama.
