Summary

Ms. Sally Wallace is a federal senior executive with over 30 years of experience in information technology management at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). She is also a retired Army Reserve Colonel with 30 years of Army service. Ms. Wallace brings her extensive and proven skills in IT operations and leadership abilities to all of her Deep Water Point clients.
Accomplishments
As the associate deputy assistant secretary for Privacy/Records management at the VA, Ms. Wallace served as the executive in charge of all programs and as the chief freedom of information (FOIA) officer and chief privacy officer. In this capacity, she led efforts to increase the number of trained privacy and FOIA officers, acquired automation to support the VA’s FOIA processing, and directed the development of the VA’s plan to reduce the use of the social security number.
Over the course of her VA tenure, Ms. Wallace held the executive positions of associate deputy assistant secretary for IT Operations, IT Enterprise Architecture, and deputy to the associate deputy assistant secretary for Cyber Security. In all of these roles, she increased the agency’s productivity by improving the VA’s technology systems. Some of these advancements included the upgrading of their internet and intranet presence, updating their continuity of operations capability, and instituting communication enhancements to the VA’s central office campus and support services. She also led the effort to eliminate agency privacy weaknesses and created and implemented the VA’s E-Discovery processes.
Personal
Ms. Wallace holds a BS in business administration from Central Michigan University and an MS in information systems from George Washington University. She is also a graduate of the Army War College and the US Army Command and General Staff School.
Ms. Wallace has been honored with military awards including the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Joint Services Commendation Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Office of Secretary of Defense Identification Badge. During her civilian career, she received numerous performance, contribution and technical honors, culminating in receipt of the VA Distinguished Career award and the Meritorious Presidential Rank award.
