Accomplishments
As a partner in the Global Public Sector practice at Grant Thornton LLP, Mr. Wohlleben was responsible for managing and expanding Grant Thornton’s support for all federal agencies. This involved delivering a broad scope of services including financial management/accounting, performance management, information technology, and process improvement. Federal revenues at Grant Thornton increased by over 800% during his leadership tenure.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Wohlleben served as the chief information officer at the General Services Administration, Public Buildings Service (PBS). Before joining PBS, Mr. Wohlleben was the deputy chief information officer at the US Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Wohlleben began his Federal career at the Department of the Treasury.
Mr. Wohlleben is actively involved in the Federal IT community. He served as chair of the Federal Committee at the Information Technology Association of America, from 2001 – 2004. He also served consecutive terms as president of the Association for Federal Information Resources Management from 1995-97. In 1996, 1998 and 2001, Mr. Wohlleben was a recipient of Federal Computer Week’s Federal 100 award for his leadership efforts in the Federal IT community. He was also honored with the 1996 IT Government Executive of the Year award presented by the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils. Mr. Wohlleben is a certified project management professional. He is a regular contributor to thought leadership in the federal IT space through his column, “The Business of IT” which is published in FedTech Magazine.
Personal
Mr. Wohlleben holds a degree in business administration from Virginia Tech. After a tour of duty in the US Army, he earned his MBA from George Washington University and attended the George Mason University Law School.
