At OMB, he was responsible for providing effective technology solutions for the Executive Office of the President and had oversight for an IT budget of $59.3B. He also directed the development of the Federal Enterprise Architecture which was the first business process depiction for the federal government. While at the USPS, Mr. Lorentz created the CTO position to develop an overall technology direction for the agency. He was initially hired as chief quality officer to lead the development agency’s performance management system, which is used to today to establish direction, allocate resources and review results. His efforts helped the USPS set records for both improved financials and customer service.
