Summary

Martha Huelsbeck’s 25 year career in financial management has been focused entirely on improving budgeting and forecasting, particularly in the area of indirect cost for her employers and customers.  She has a significant understanding of compliance and strategic overhead cost management solutions.  Over the course of Ms. Huelsbeck’s life’s work, she has overseen the development and implementation of multiple financial systems while ensuring the effectiveness of the accounting, financial analysis and management reporting facets of these systems.  These are the skills and expertise Ms. Huelsbeck brings to her Deep Water Point clients.

Accomplishments

As vice president of Financial Management and Budgeting for Vangent (formerly Pearson Government Solutions), Ms. Huelsbeck was responsible for management reporting, forecasting and budgeting for the $500 million organization.  She also played an integral role in Pearson Government Solution’s transition from being a wholly owned subsidiary to becoming the standalone, venture capital-owned company now known as Vangent.

Prior to her government contracting positions, Ms. Huelsbeck worked in university administration.  While in the performing arts at the University of Iowa, she authored and implemented a plan to reorganize three separate arts production departments into one well functioning unit which shared a common overhead structure.

Personal

Ms. Huelsbeck holds a BS in social sciences and a MA in accounting from the University of Iowa.  She is also a CPA.
