With 22 years of experience in foreign affairs and over 35 years of expertise in information technology and training, Mr. Jerry Helmick provides consummate knowledge of the Department of State and outstanding leadership skills to our Deep Water Point clients.
Accomplishments
During his tenure as a foreign service officer at the Department of State, Mr. Helmick led various assignments internationally and domestically as a diplomat and as an information technology and training officer. He has also held the position of dean of the School of Applied Information Technology at the Foreign Service Institute, implementing state of the art learning platforms to deliver electronic training content worldwide. Mr. Helmick has held a number of program manager roles including the implementation of the initial distance learning program for the Department of State. Mr. Helmick was actively involved interacting with senior government and private sector officials in his role as the Department of State’s liaison to the Office of the Chief Information Officer. In addition to his senior offices with the State Department, he has served abroad in Colombia, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, France, and Germany and has extensive travel and living experiences throughout Latin America.
Mr. Helmick is well known for his superior leadership and guidance, particularly in areas related to information technology and training. He has exceptional savvy in planning service delivery, strategic business process analysis and implementation training in business processes.
Personal
Mr. Helmick holds a BS in systems analysis from Miami University of Ohio and an MA in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College. Mr. Helmick is fluent in Spanish.
