Mr. Curt Turner is a senior executive with 32 years of federal experience. His Deep Water Point clients benefit greatly from his team leadership abilities and vast knowledge of the IRS and the federal market.
Accomplishments
Prior to joining Deep Water Point, Mr. Turner served as the associate chief information officer (ACIO ) for Management. As ACIO, he was responsible for managing a $1.6B budget and had HR responsibility for approximately 7000 employees. He also served as ACIO for Business Systems Development where he directed the development, maintenance, testing, and deployment of IRS applications systems. Mr. Turner was responsible for establishing the first IT strategic planning organization and served as the director of the commissioner’s IT Organization Modernization team.
At the beginning of his IRS career, Mr. Turner started in computer programming. He quickly became a team leader and directed the development of program enhancements that simplified customer service adjustment activities, tracked overage cases, and managed the accounts receivable inventory. Then, as a section chief, he supported compliance research initiatives and managed the enhancement and maintenance of Service Center input processing systems.
Most recently, Mr. Turner served as the senior executive advisor to the deputy commissioner for Operations Support. He has personally contributed to decades of successful filing seasons and his contributions to the IRS have been recognized with the Commissioner’s Award three times in five years.
Personal
Mr. Turner holds a BS in natural resource management from the University of Maryland and studied marine biology at the University of Miami.
