Mr. Peter Ahearn’s 31 year career as a leader in investigative and intelligence operations management allows him to bring unparalleled value to his Deep Water Point clients. He is an accomplished law enforcement and intelligence professional who has served in several senior executive positions within the FBI, DEA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Accomplishments
After achieving the rank of FBI special agent in charge, Mr. Ahearn was assigned to direct all operations and administration of the Western New York office. This included managing and directing all FBI investigative and national security operations for the area including the management of a $1 million budget, human resources oversight, facilities management and information security. Mr. Ahearn directed the Joint Terrorism Task Force and four other cross-functional teams with an additional 65 federal, state and local law enforcement investigators and analysts. During his tenure, his division was honored with multiple Directors’ Awards, Attorney General Awards, and the Service to America award. The Service to America award was received for his team’s work on the “Lackawanna Six” international terrorism case, the James Charles Kopp anti-abortion terrorist case, and the Teamster Local 91 RICO prosecution in Niagara Falls.
As a senior advisor to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Mr. Ahearn was responsible for providing policy, planning and direction oversight within their collection branch. He supervised the implementation of the FBI’s National Security Branch and worked closely with the CIA’s National Clandestine Service and the Defense Department’s Defense HUMINT group. Mr. Ahearn has also coordinated several projects with the ODNI IG to ensure law enforcement and national security integration and was responsible for IC HUMINT policy, budget and training development.

Mr. Ahearn holds a BS in business administration and accounting from Rutgers University and is a certified intelligence officer with top secret national security clearance.
